Anubis' Story-part one

Something in my gut clenched as I paced, i knew something was wrong but i couldn't figure it out. I kept pacing hoping it would come to me. It never did.

i sighed and someone said "Anubis..."

I groaned knowing the voice "Nut" i said as i turned to look at her. She was small hardly even 5 feet tall and looked 15. The Gods only know how old she really is. It hadn't accord to me that no one but me was ever in the underworld, unless they're dead. "why are you here?" i asked.

"i'm here because of Bastet" she said her voice sounded sad.

"what happened, whats wrong, is she ok" i asked quickly on the verge of hysteria.

She suppressed a giggle which made me growl. It wasn't common knowledge that i had deep feelings for Bastet, and Nut was the only person I trusted with the information. Luckily she stopped and said."nothing, i don't know, and physically yes"

"what do you mean...?" i said hardly moving.

She went over to the stuff on my cabinet and started messing with old charms i kept there. "I'm not sure.." she whispered "Bastets in the mortal world... she just got up and left after staring for a long while... i'm really worried Anubis... please... help her"

She looked up at me with deep fear and worry in her eyes, she wasn't lying which scared me.

"alright" i managed to say "i'll do my best"

"thank you" she whispered and hugged me tightly. "i know you can help her" then she was gone.

"alright..." i said to myself and grabbed my diamond charm for luck "might as well get a move on"

I used my god given powers to travel to the mortal world and it wasn't that hard to find her. Whenever Bastet came to the mortal world she'd spend a great deal of time at the temple that was built for her, and thats where she was. I just glimpsed her heading into the temple and she all but radiated "depression".

I silently followed her in and watched he sink onto the marble steps in front of the temple's pond. I watched her as she traced patterns with her fingers in the water, her black tail laying still at her side.

I couldn't hold it in any longer so i stepped forward and said.  "Bastet, whats wrong?"

She stood up immediately and spun on her toes to face me. That's when i saw the self protectiveness in her eyes vanish into surprise, then merge into happiness and i barely herd her whisper. "Anubis..."
